The seven deadly sins : Poem / writeflow

In twilight's hush, where shadows play,
A figure walks, with pride's display.
A heart of gold, now tarnished bright,
Reflects the gleam, of self-made light.

In secret chambers, lust's warm fire,
A whispered promise, of forbidden desire.
The taste of sweetness, on tender skin,
A fleeting pleasure, that leaves guilt within.

Avarice creeps, with stealthy pace,
And gathers riches, in a darkened space.
The weight of gold, a burden true,
A heart that's heavy, with desires anew.

In idle moments, sloth's sweet sway,
Lures souls to rest, in endless day.
The world outside, with all its strife,
Fades into nothingness, a meaningless life.

A burning rage, that cannot sleep,
Gluttony's excess, in endless deep.
The feast of senses, a never-ending quest,
A hunger that gnaws, and never finds rest.

In whispered words, a subtle spite,
A venom spreads, that poisons delight.
The sting of envy, a wound so sore,
A heart that's eaten, by bitter gall once more.

And last, a darkness, deep and wide,
A realm of shadows, where hope cannot reside.
A soul that's lost, in endless night,
A heart that's hardened, without a light.

These seven demons, that plague the mind,
A constant struggle, we cannot leave behind.
Yet still we strive, to rise above,
And find the strength, to conquer and to love.
